Induced Over Voltage Test Set
Suitable for testing induced over voltage of distribution transformers, power transformers, various step-down and step-up transformers, and motors rated below 600V.
Overview
These sets are suitable for testing Induced Over Voltage of Distribution Transformers, Power Transformers, various Step-Down and Step-Up Transformers, and motors whose rated voltage is below 600V.
The induced over voltage test is a critical quality assurance test that verifies the inter-turn insulation integrity of transformer windings. By applying twice the rated voltage at twice the rated frequency, the test ensures that the insulation between turns can withstand voltage stresses that may occur during operation.
Testing Applications
- Distribution Transformers — Inter-turn insulation verification for 11KV/33KV class
- Power Transformers — Winding insulation quality assurance
- Step-Down Transformers — Voltage reduction transformer testing
- Step-Up Transformers — Voltage boost transformer verification
- Motors (below 600V) — Motor winding insulation integrity
Test Methodology
The test applies twice the rated voltage at an elevated frequency (typically 100Hz or 120Hz) for a specified duration. This ensures that the induced voltage between turns is adequate to prove insulation integrity without saturating the core.
Key Features
- Variable Frequency — Adjustable output frequency to prevent core saturation
- Precision Voltage Control — Smooth and accurate voltage regulation
- Timer Control — Preset test duration with automatic cutoff
- Safety Interlocks — Comprehensive operator protection systems
- Digital Instrumentation — Accurate voltage and frequency readouts
